→ Sparrowhand was born blind. This was never able to be reversed. (Consider what God has done:Who can straighten what he has made crooked? - Ecclesiastes 7:13) Strangely enough, it was his disability that saved much of Koi's loyalists.
→ Sparrowhand was orphaned at a young age and became a ward of the church for much of his youth. He was on his way to becoming a priest before he was named a knight. He remained faithful to The One even to his death and many assume his lack of a love-life was partly due to an oath of celibacy- but he never confirmed that, it was his business.
→ Sparrowhand was left-handed with his blade. This was because his right was always used to hold his seeing-stick. When he developed spirit-sight (...magical eco-location long explanation short) he used his right hand.
→ He had his eyes torn out near the end of his life. Sparrowhand, along with Catik and Zaid, were Jelani's captives for nearly a year.
→ He was eventually killed by poison within the confines of his own stronghold by a loyalist of Jelani who posed as a refugee. His last words were, "Maker, please help these people."
→ Sparrowhand's spirit lingered, hoping to walk into paradise alongside his fellow knights. His spirit answered the call of a young summoner who, without his interference, would have died. He found himself in the body of a dog-dolphin-swan.
→ Sparrow, who now goes by "Spar", has only revealed who he is to a few people.
→ Spar is fascinated by beautiful, little things. Sunsets, the stars, dew on leaves- things he always heard were lovely in life but never could understand.
