The Court of Cithal

The twin sons of the former tyrant of Cithal, Lir and Maeth, have grown to maturity. Though they shared a womb, the two boys were as different as night and day. Perhaps their names were a foreshadowing of this contrast or perhaps their grandmother was prophetic in reading their spirits. Maeth, meaning "Battle", grew into a strong, confident young man filled with his sire's ambition. He's dangerous with a sword and as headstrong as a young boar. He called a creature belonging to the element of darkness and has the ability to cloak himself in the shadows. He's slowly learning the art of manipulation and displacement as well. Lir, meaning "Song", grew into a quiet, shy bard. None know where the boy found his love for music or his gift with instruments and he was always looked Kansas by those that knew his lineage. Due to Lir's cowardly nature, the dhampire's inner beast dominates him when his spirit is weakened. Lir is responsible for several accidental deaths, two of which led to he and his twin's exile from the world of Chimu. When Maeth returned to Rion to claim the throne his father's defeat left vacant, Lir attempted to find his place elsewhere training to be a warrior in hopes of finding some courage to control the beast within. Eventually Lir's attempts at being a warrior left another ally dead through a horrific accident and he was exiled from the continent of Lancaster. With no where left to go, Lir returned to his brother's side. Maeth insists that Lir take the title of his heir until he can find a queen for himself and produce legitimate son but Lir fears his homeland and his father's legacy.

Veriot was adopted into the family from a very young age when Maeth ran away from home and eventually found himself ensnared by the vampire queen, Morganna. Veriot was among the many dhampires captured for the vampire queen's experiments and became quick friends with Maeth. The two share a love for the art of sword play and often spar against one another to sharpen each other's skills. Veriot's spirit amplifies magic around him so Maeth is able to extend his shadows and hide better when his adopted sibling is about. The two are a force of nature together. When Maeth returned to his sire's throne ,Veriot was at his side and took on the role of the king's guardian. He cloaks himself in black and wears a silver mask to hide his rather odd features.

The three dhampire children hold the fate of Rion in their hands.

Two weeks of work, oh my goodness. It's been a rough two weeks and I've been touching on this when I was able. The inking technique is very time consuming but the final look of it is amazing. I attempted a combination of screenshot shading and soft shading but kept it subtle so it didn't take away from the image itself. I also have to give a shout out to these two amazing tutorials which I used to make the background: Nebulae Tutorial and This Planet Tutorial. They were very helpful though I did alter the technique a little.

Maeth belongs to and Lir and Veriot belong to myself! The story is a brain baby between the two of us~
