WIP - Flight of the Silver Bird (Updated)

I'm trying out a new, hopefully more dynamic, style of  inking for this one. I recently downloaded some music from Two Steps from Hell and "Flight of the Silverbird" has provoked  this image for a very long time. I've been re-working the foundations for ParaChiMar and the story behind the first order of Virtue Knights and their young king, Thalion. This will be one of the more dramatic moments in the story (hopefully). I'll flesh it out a little more once it's actually done.

while there's obviously some flaws, I worked from about twelve different references both for the pose of Thalion, his wings, his expression, and his clothing. I'm trying very hard to capture a lot of movement, emotion, and feeling in this one. I'm going to even attempt a background inked in the same style as Thalion is and do some more detailed shading. I feel I need to do another "big" image before the year is out so I can really see how far my work has improved from the last big image. So far, oddly, my "big" images are focusing on the first age.

So I wanted to post a WIP of the linework since I'm very proud of how they've come out. Thalion's wings look a little funky but he's just opening them up, getting ready for that first leap into the air. He doesn't look comfortable since...this is his first flight and all he really has to comfort him his the faith that he was created for flight and the desperate need to moralize his army.
